AI Speed to Leads vs the alternatives

A buyer's comparison of five ways to answer web leads faster: an appointment setter or call center, Hatch, SalesApe, Structurely, and DIY. Each shows what the alternative does well, its public price, and where we differ: consent-only AI voice in 60 seconds, a demo on your phone.

Competitor facts are from their public pages, checked October 2026. We do not invent claims about anyone, including ourselves.

1. Hiring

vs an appointment setter or call center

A good human setter is better than any AI at reading a hesitant buyer and at negotiating. The problem is coverage. One full-time setter is about 40 hours a week; leads arrive 168 hours a week, and Podium's figure says 40% of service calls come in after hours.

Cost basisWage plus payroll taxes, benefits, management. At $18 an hour full time that is about $37,400 a year in wages alone, before taxes and benefits, for 40 hours of coverage.Per call or per minute. Our take: keep the setter for the conversations that need a person. Let Lily do the first minute, the nights and the weekends.

2. Hatch

vs Hatch

Hatch is the best-known AI CSR platform in home improvement. It covers speed to lead, estimate follow-up (rehash), customer recontact, 24/7 call handling and marketing blasts. It publishes integration pages for several bath brands and customer case studies with set-rate claims. If you are a multi-location dealer group, Hatch is built for you and you should look at it.

3. SalesApe

vs SalesApe

SalesApe sells AI "APE" agents that qualify inbound leads and book over email, SMS, chat, WhatsApp and Messenger, with voice newer. It targets businesses with roughly 20 to 100 staff, says setup takes four to five weeks, and does not publish prices.

4. Structurely

vs Structurely

Structurely is the closest product on mechanics: AI voice, SMS and email, appointment setting, live transfer, a live demo call to your phone, and public pricing. 5. Doing it yourself

vs doing it yourself

Most companies already have a process: the form emails the office, someone calls back when they can. The research says how that goes. HBR's audit of 2,241 companies found an average response of 42 hours among those that responded, 37% within an hour, and 23% never. Drift's audit of 433 companies found 7% responded within five minutes.

Questions

Comparisons, answered

How is this different from Hatch?

Hatch is a home-improvement AI CSR platform with speed to lead, rehash, call handling and marketing blasts, sold on an annual agreement per location with pricing on request. We are narrower: consent-only email plus an AI voice call in about 60 seconds, scoring and booking, with a live demo you can trigger on your own phone. If you want blasts to a database, Hatch is built for that and we are not.

Is an AI really cheaper than an appointment setter?

For coverage, yes: one setter covers about 40 hours a week, and leads arrive around the clock. For a single location with low lead volume, the math is closer, and a good human setter also handles things an AI should not, like negotiating. Most clients keep their setter for the big conversations and let Lily do the first minute, nights and weekends.

Why do you list competitor prices?

Because buyers ask, and the ones who publish deserve credit for it. Every figure is from the vendor's own page or a cited third party, checked October 2026. Prices change; verify before you buy. We do not publish our own price yet; it is quoted on a 15-minute call.

Can I run this alongside Hatch or another platform?

Yes. We take a copy of the lead from the webhook and post results back. Several clients use us for the first-minute call and keep their existing CRM or platform for everything after.

See it on your own leads.

15-minute call with a real person. Or have Lily, our AI, call you first.
