Speed-to-lead ROI calculator

A speed-to-lead ROI calculator estimates the revenue a business loses by responding to web leads in hours instead of minutes. Enter leads per month, average job value, current close rate and the lift you expect from a 60-second response. Pick an industry preset, then replace the numbers with your own.

An estimate from your inputs, not a promise. Benchmarks and sources are below the calculator.

What is slow follow-up costing you?

Choose a preset or move the sliders. The "lift" slider is your own guess at how many more deals you would close by calling in a minute instead of hours later.

$9,000

extra revenue per month at these numbers

2.3 more closed deals a month, $108,000 a year.

An estimate from your inputs, not a promise. Response time matters: a widely cited Harvard Business Review study found firms that tried to reach leads within an hour were nearly seven times more likely to qualify them than those that waited even an hour longer.

Benchmarks

Numbers to calibrate the lift slider

None of these studies measures closed revenue directly. They measure the odds of contacting or qualifying a lead, which is why we suggest starting the lift slider low.

About the presets

Job values are planning averages, not surveys: bath remodel about $12,000, roofing about $9,500, HVAC about $7,500, painting about $4,000, med spa about $900 per consult that converts. Lead counts and close rates in the presets are starting points only. If you buy shared leads, remember they go to three to five contractors each (NextPhone), which is where response speed matters most.

Next: what the plans include, why 60 seconds, how the alternatives compare, and the consent rules. Industry pages: bath remodel, roofing, HVAC, painting, med spa.

Questions

The calculator, answered

How does the calculator work?

Extra deals per month equals leads per month times your current close rate times the lift you expect from faster follow-up. Extra revenue is that number times your average job value. It is your inputs, not a forecast, and it ignores costs on both sides.

What lift should I use?

Start low. The studies measure the odds of qualifying or contacting a lead, not closed revenue: HBR found about 7 times the odds of qualifying when contacting within an hour, Velocify measured a 391% conversion lift inside one minute. A 10 to 25% lift in closed deals is a conservative place to begin if you are currently responding in hours.

Where do the industry presets come from?

The job values are rough averages we use for planning: bath remodel about $12,000, roofing about $9,500, HVAC about $7,500, painting about $4,000, med spa consult value about $900. Leads and close rates are starting points. Replace all of them with your own numbers.
