Missed-call text-back plus a call-back in 60 seconds
Missed-call text-back automatically texts a caller you could not answer, so the lead is not lost. We add the part that texting alone cannot do: Lily, our AI assistant, calls back within about 60 seconds, says she is an AI, finds out what they need and books or routes it.
Texting: coming soon (carrier A2P registration pending). The AI call-back is live today.
How many calls go unanswered
of home-service calls arrive after hours, when a text-back is easiest to ignore.
Podium (vendor-reported)higher odds of reaching a lead at 5 minutes than at 30. A caller is a lead with the phone already in hand.
Lead Response Management study, 2007Why a text by itself loses the after-hours caller
A text cannot ask a question
"How can we help?" gets a one-line answer at best. The caller still has not told you where, when, or how bad it is, and nobody has booked anything.
A call catches them mid-search
The person who hung up is dialing the next plumber on the list. A ring from your number 60 seconds later interrupts that search with the help they wanted.
A call books the job
Lily reads the calendar and offers real openings on the call-back. A text can only promise that someone will be in touch.
The order we run things
- 0:00 The call is missed, abandoned, or hits voicemail outside the hours you set.
- 0:04 Text-back, once carrier registration is approved. Until then this step is skipped and nothing is sent.
- 0:05 Owner alert with the caller's number and, if we have it, their name from a prior form.
- 0:55 Lily calls the number back, says she is an AI assistant for your business, and asks what they needed. Inside 8 am to 8 pm local only; after that the call-back waits for 8 am and the alert still fires now.
- Done Booked, routed to your on-call person, or a message with a transcript. Every call-back is recorded and summarized.
The call-back
Lily: "Hi, this is Lily, an AI assistant for Front Range Plumbing. You just called us and we missed it, sorry about that. This call may be recorded. What can we help with?"
Caller: "My main line is backed up. Nothing drains."
Lily: "OK. Is anything coming up into the house, like a tub or floor drain?"
Caller: "Not yet."
Lily: "Good. The first opening is tomorrow at 8 am, or I can have the on-call tech call you tonight if it gets worse. Which do you want?"
Caller: "8 am is fine. What's the address again for the invoice?"
Lily: "I'll have the office send that with your confirmation. What's the address we're coming to?"
Rules on the call-back
- Only people who called you. A missed inbound call is the request; we never dial anyone else.
- AI disclosure and recording notice in the first sentence.
- One call-back attempt. If it goes to voicemail, Lily leaves a short message with your number and stops.
- Quiet hours apply: 8 am to 8 pm in the caller's time zone.
- Text-back language will carry STOP and HELP and go out only after registration.
Pair it with inbound answering so fewer calls are missed in the first place, and after-hours lead response for web forms. Pricing is quoted with your plan on the pricing page. Trades: HVAC and plumbing, roofing.
Missed-call text-back, answered
What is missed-call text-back?
When a call to your business goes unanswered, the system automatically sends the caller a text within seconds: "Sorry we missed you, how can we help?" It turns a hang-up into a conversation. We pair it with an AI call-back inside 60 seconds so the caller gets a real conversation, not just a text.
Is texting live?
Not yet. Texting is coming soon; carrier A2P 10DLC registration is pending, and we will not send a text until it clears. The AI call-back, the instant email and the owner alert are live today.
Can you text or call back any missed caller?
A call-back to someone who just called you is a response to their request, and the text-back will need the consent and opt-out language the carriers and the TCPA require. We only text or AI-call people who contacted your business first, we say it is an AI, and STOP works instantly. Details on the compliance page.
Why not just text?
Texts work when the caller is at a desk. After hours, the caller with a burst pipe or a leaking roof is already dialing the next number on the list. A call-back in 60 seconds catches them. The text, once live, is the backup for people who do not pick up.
What if I answer the call myself?
Then nothing happens. The text-back and call-back only fire when the call is missed, goes to voicemail, or is abandoned before the greeting. You can also set it to fire only outside your office hours.
